A lettering design that reads "Mama", stitched in heavy block letters for home embroidery machines.
Stitch elements: the word "Mama" in tatami fill with a run-stitch edge and a wavy satin underline swash.
Finished sizes measured from the files: 92.2 × 26.2 mm for the 4x4 hoop (3,083 stitches) and 172.2 × 48.6 mm for the 5x7 hoop (7,326 stitches). Because the large version is wider than it is tall, rotate it 90° on the machine or hoop the 5x7 frame in landscape orientation.
Thread colours in sewing order (2 colour stops): Dusty Rose (#C98B8F), Charcoal (#3A3B3F).
One ZIP download holds 9 files: the design in DST, PES and JEF for both hoop sizes (separate 4x4 and 5x7 folders), a PNG preview rendered from the stitches, a PDF colour chart and a short README with stitching notes. Works with any embroidery machine or software that opens DST, PES or JEF files.
Lovely on tote bags, tea towels, pillow covers and sweatshirts. Stitch settings: 0.42 mm tatami row spacing, 3.2 mm fill stitch length with a staggered pattern, 0.4 mm satin spacing, underlay under all fills and wider satins, lock stitches at starts and ends, and trim commands between objects. For best results use 40 wt embroidery thread, a 75/11 needle and a stabilizer matched to the fabric (cut-away for stretchy fabrics, tear-away for woven cotton, linen and canvas).
Every format was written with a stitch library and re-opened to verify stitch counts, dimensions and colour changes. As with any design, a test sew-out on similar fabric is recommended. Original design; personal use, or small-batch commercial use with the commercial licence.
