Original rick Rack Zigzag Border embroidery file, made for home and small commercial embroidery machines.
The design is made up of a rick-rack zig-zag of 16 satin columns, two straight bean-stitch rails and 16 filled dots.
Sewing order and colours: Cherry Red (#C8202F), Charcoal (#3A3B3F), Mustard Yellow (#D4A22A) (3 stops in total).
Two sizes are included. The small file measures 91.4 × 12.6 mm (3.60 × 0.50 in) with 1,402 stitches; the large file measures 171.0 × 23.6 mm (6.73 × 0.93 in) with 2,814 stitches. Note that the 5x7 file runs horizontally across the long side of the hoop; rotate it on screen if your machine expects portrait.
Everything arrives in one ZIP (9 files): DST, PES and JEF files in a 4x4 folder and a 5x7 folder, a PNG stitch preview, a colour-change chart PDF (thread order, colour names with hex values, stitch counts per colour, sizes in mm and inches) and a README. Works with any embroidery machine or software that opens DST, PES or JEF files.
Built with underlay first, then tatami fill at 0.42 mm row spacing and satin at 0.4 mm spacing; no stitch is longer than about 7 mm and starts and stops are locked with short tie stitches. Recommended: medium cut-away stabilizer for T-shirts and fleece, tear-away for tote bags and napkins, a wash-away topper on terry towels; standard 40 wt thread and a 75/11 needle. Stitch it along a towel hem, a pillowcase cuff, a curtain edge or the band of an apron; repeat the file end to end for longer runs.
Every format was written with a stitch library and re-opened to verify stitch counts, dimensions and colour changes. As with any design, a test sew-out on similar fabric is recommended. Original design; personal use, or small-batch commercial use with the commercial licence.
