Fern Frond: an embroidery floral design built from simple, bold shapes that stitch out crisply.
Stitch elements: a curved satin centre rib and 28 tapering satin fronds.
Finished sizes measured from the files: 39.6 × 90.8 mm for the 4x4 hoop (3,633 stitches) and 73.8 × 169.8 mm for the 5x7 hoop (6,904 stitches).
Suggested threads, in the order the machine stops for them: Forest Green (#2E5B3A).
One ZIP download holds 9 files: the design in DST, PES and JEF for both hoop sizes (separate 4x4 and 5x7 folders), a PNG preview rendered from the stitches, a PDF colour chart and a short README with stitching notes. Works with any embroidery machine or software that opens DST, PES or JEF files.
Digitizing details: tatami fills (0.42 mm rows, offset 3.2 mm stitches) sit on an edge-walk plus cross-hatch underlay, satin columns are sewn at 0.4 mm density with underlay, and every colour section has tie-in and tie-off stitches with trims between separated pieces. Pair it with 40 weight embroidery thread, a fresh 75/11 needle and cut-away (knits) or tear-away (wovens) stabilizer; add a soluble topper on towels or fleece. Ideal for linens, pouches, bags, shirts and handmade gifts.
Every format was written with a stitch library and re-opened to verify stitch counts, dimensions and colour changes. As with any design, a test sew-out on similar fabric is recommended. Original design; personal use, or small-batch commercial use with the commercial licence.
