Item details
Original folk Butterfly embroidery file, made for home and small commercial embroidery machines.
It is built from a butterfly with four filled wings, four filled wing spots in a contrast colour and a filled body and bean-stitch antennae.
Finished sizes measured from the files: 92.2 × 72.0 mm for the 4x4 hoop (7,210 stitches) and 158.6 × 124.2 mm for the 5x7 hoop (16,660 stitches). Because the large version is wider than it is tall, rotate it 90° on the machine or hoop the 5x7 frame in landscape orientation.
Sewing order and colours: Violet (#7A4FA0), Tangerine (#EE8A2F), Charcoal (#3A3B3F) (3 stops in total).
Everything arrives in one ZIP (9 files): DST, PES and JEF files in a 4x4 folder and a 5x7 folder, a PNG stitch preview, a colour-change chart PDF (thread order, colour names with hex values, stitch counts per colour, sizes in mm and inches) and a README. Works with any embroidery machine or software that opens DST, PES or JEF files.
For best results use 40 wt embroidery thread, a 75/11 needle and a stabilizer matched to the fabric (cut-away for stretchy fabrics, tear-away for woven cotton, linen and canvas). Built with underlay first, then tatami fill at 0.42 mm row spacing and satin at 0.4 mm spacing; no stitch is longer than about 7 mm and starts and stops are locked with short tie stitches. Ideal for linens, pouches, bags, shirts and handmade gifts.
The files were generated in software and checked by reading every DST, PES and JEF file back to confirm stitch count, size and colour stops; please do a test stitch-out on scrap fabric first. Original design; personal use, or small-batch commercial use with the commercial licence.
