A double ring monogram of the letter Q, digitized for home embroidery machines. The initial is set in a flowing formal script and stitched as a smooth tatami fill.
It is built from the letter Q in tatami fill with a run-stitch edge and a double ring (bean-stitch inner ring and satin outer ring).
Suggested threads, in the order the machine stops for them: Mauve (#A5707E), Dusty Rose (#C98B8F), Slate Grey (#6B7280).
4x4 hoop version: 92.2 × 92.2 mm (3.63 × 3.63 in), 4,010 stitches. 5x7 hoop version: 124.2 × 124.2 mm (4.89 × 4.89 in), 6,289 stitches.
One ZIP download holds 9 files: the design in DST, PES and JEF for both hoop sizes (separate 4x4 and 5x7 folders), a PNG preview rendered from the stitches, a PDF colour chart and a short README with stitching notes. Works with any embroidery machine or software that opens DST, PES or JEF files.
Great for gifts: try it on a canvas bag, a baby blanket, a cushion or a denim jacket. Stitch on cotton, linen, canvas, denim, fleece or knit with the right backing: cut-away for anything stretchy, tear-away for firm wovens, plus topping on high-pile fabrics. Digitizing details: tatami fills (0.42 mm rows, offset 3.2 mm stitches) sit on an edge-walk plus cross-hatch underlay, satin columns are sewn at 0.4 mm density with underlay, and every colour section has tie-in and tie-off stitches with trims between separated pieces.
Files were validated by loading them back and comparing stitch totals and extents across formats; a quick test on scrap fabric is still the best way to dial in tension. Original design; personal use, or small-batch commercial use with the commercial licence.
