20 mazes with loops: there is more than one way to get from START to FINISH, but only one shortest route. The grids run 10x10 up to 16x16 cells.
The solved routes run from 17 to 100 cells, with an average of 32. Because there are loops, the key marks the shortest route, and each maze was tested to make sure that shortest route is unique. The generator uses the recursive backtracker and Kruskal's algorithm and growing-tree style, which produces long, winding corridors with few branches.
Each page has name and date lines, ready for classroom use. Every page is vector artwork, so lines stay sharp when printed at any size.
The answer key has 5 answer-key pages with 4 solved mazes on each page, the route drawn in colour.
Parents can make a weekly maze challenge, one page per day. Slip a few pages into a homework folder, a travel binder or a waiting-room kit.
