Kids hard mode: 15 tough word searches covering life science (Grades 4-8). Grids grow up to 20 × 20, and words hide backwards, upside down and on diagonals.
Each page has its own theme (Heart Lungs and Blood, Vertebrates and Invertebrates, Ecosystems and Food Webs, Five Senses and the Brain, Digestive System, Adaptations and Camouflage, Desert Rainforest and Tundra Habitats and Bacteria Fungi and Protists, plus 7 more), so you will find words such as Fermentation, Spine, Ligament, Blubber, Joey, Water, Balance, Dune, Juvenile. The longest hidden word is Heterozygous (12 letters).
You get 20 to 27 words in every puzzle on 18 × 18 up to 20 × 20 grids, and words are hidden in all eight directions - forwards, backwards, up, down and on every diagonal. A boxed word list below the grid shows each word to find, and a name/date line at the top makes the pages easy to hand in. Page 1 explains how to play and lists all 15 puzzles with check circles; pages 2 to 16 each hold a single puzzle.
A matching answer key (4 pages) shows each completed grid with the words marked in color, so checking takes seconds. One ZIP file holds four PDFs - puzzles and answer key, each in US Letter and A4 - so you can print whichever size fits your paper.
