12 word search puzzles, one topic: Simple Machines. Written for Grades 2-5, the pack builds spelling and vocabulary while students hunt for words hidden in the grid.
The word lists come from one theme, Simple Machines, and are rotated from puzzle to puzzle so each word turns up several times in new places. Sample words: Seesaw, Zipper, Axle, Scissors, Wedge, Gear, Crank, Machine, Force.
Grid sizes ramp up from 12 × 12 to 14 × 14 as you work through the pack, with 11 to 16 words per puzzle; words run across, down, and on two diagonals (down-right and up-right) - nothing is written backwards. Each puzzle page has a name and date line, a title that names the theme, and a boxed word list with a check-off marker for every entry. The PDF has 13 pages: a contents and how-to-play page with a puzzle checklist, then 12 puzzles with one on each page.
Solutions come in their own file, 3 pages long, with coloured highlights marking where each word hides (up to four puzzles per key page). You download a single ZIP containing the puzzles and the answer key as PDF files, in both US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) and A4.
