Item details
An eight-week fall meal planner that writes your grocery list for you. Pick breakfast, lunch, dinner and a fall treat for every day from the dropdowns and choose a week on the Grocery List tab: the workbook adds up every ingredient in those meals, scales it to your household size, subtracts what you already have at home, rounds up to whole packages, groups the result by supermarket aisle and estimates the cost. The weeks are pre-filled with a rotation of 35 simple, original fall recipes (pumpkin pasta, apple crisp, slow-cooker chili, sheet-pan dinners and more).
Ideas for using it: - Plan a month and a half of family dinners in one sitting and shop once a week from a clean list - Keep the grocery budget honest with a per-week and per-person cost estimate - Add your own recipes and reuse the workbook all year, not only in fall
What's included: - 1 XLSX workbook with 7 tabs: How to Use, Meal Plan (8 weeks, 56 days), Grocery List, Pantry and Prices (66 items plus blank rows), Meals (35 recipes), Recipe Items (about 200 ingredient lines), Lists - 1 ODS copy for LibreOffice and OpenOffice - 1 CSV with every recipe ingredient (meal, ingredient, quantity for 4 servings, unit), values only
Works with: - XLSX opens in Microsoft Excel (2016, 2019, 2021, Microsoft 365), Google Sheets (upload and open), LibreOffice Calc and Apple Numbers; formulas recalculate as you type. - ODS opens in LibreOffice Calc, Apache OpenOffice, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel and Apple Numbers; formulas recalculate as you type. - CSV (comma-separated, UTF-8) imports into Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, LibreOffice, Airtable, Notion and most databases.
About the fonts: Fraunces, Outfit give the design its look and are free from Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, including commercial use. Missing fonts fall back to Georgia or Arial-style system fonts.
How to use: set the Monday your plan starts and the number of people, choose meals from the dropdowns, then open Grocery List and pick a week. Type what you own in the yellow column on Pantry and Prices. The CSV contains values only.
How the grocery list works: each recipe lists its ingredients for 4 servings. The workbook counts how many times each meal appears in the weeks you choose (SUMIF and COUNTIFS), scales by household size, adds each ingredient up across all meals, subtracts "Have at home" and rounds up with ROUNDUP. The compact list on the Grocery List tab is built with SMALL and INDEX, so it only shows items you actually need. No macros or add-ins. Prices are rough planning estimates in US dollars that you can edit. Quantities are rounded up to whole packages. Recipes are brief ingredient plans for meal planning rather than full cooking instructions; check labels and allergies for your household.
