Need a no-prep activity? Print any of these 10 US States of the West word searches (Grades 3-8) and hand it out: no cutting, no gluing, just a pencil.
You get 13 to 20 words in every puzzle on 15 × 15 up to 17 × 17 grids, and words may be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, always reading forward. Every page carries a puzzle number, the theme name, a name and date line, and a tidy word list you can tick off. The PDF has 11 pages: a contents and how-to-play page with a puzzle checklist, then 10 puzzles with one on each page.
The word lists come from one theme, US States of the West, and are rotated from puzzle to puzzle so each word turns up several times in new places. Sample words: Helena, Yosemite, Columbia, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Denali, Rockies, Sacramento.
