Need a no-prep activity? Print any of these 10 Rocks and Minerals word searches (Grades 3-6) and hand it out: no cutting, no gluing, just a pencil.
All 10 puzzles draw on the same Rocks and Minerals word bank, but every puzzle uses a different selection of words, and each one sits in a freshly generated grid. Words you will find include Pumice, Slate, Limestone, Mica, Crystal, Gypsum, Quarry, Sandstone, Diamond.
Difficulty climbs gently from 12 × 12 grids to 15 × 15 grids, hiding 11 to 16 words each; words may be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, always reading forward. Every page carries a puzzle number, the theme name, a name and date line, and a tidy word list you can tick off. You receive 11 pages in total, which is 10 puzzles plus an introduction page with instructions and a progress checklist.
Solutions come in their own file, 3 pages long, with coloured highlights marking where each word hides (up to four puzzles per key page). You download a single ZIP containing the puzzles and the answer key as PDF files, in both US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) and A4.
Great as a quiet-time activity, library or after-school club handout or homeschool morning basket. Print at home or at a copy shop; the pages work in black and white too.
