Grades 5-6 Spelling Workbook is a 42-page printable workbook that covers 13 weekly spelling lists for grades 5-6 learners, 134 words in all. Spelling focus: suffix -tion, suffix -sion, suffixes -able and -ible, prefixes in- and im- and prefixes sub-, inter-, super-, trans-, plus 8 more.
Every week runs 3 pages: a word-list page with a tip box and color-highlighted pattern letters for 10-12 words, then practice. You will find sentence writing, word searches, ABC order, trace-and-write lines, rainbow writing, look-cover-write-check charts, missing-letter tiles, word scrambles, find-and-circle the pattern and write-it-three-times pages, rotated from week to week. Sample words: suffix -tion (Week 1) includes section, education, addition, and direction; homophone pairs: advanced (Week 9) includes principle, compliment, weather, and complement; commonly confused word pairs (Week 10) includes loose, advise, lose, and than.
Answer keys are included for ABC-order lists, unscrambled words, missing letters, circled patterns, word search solution grids and every test word in read-aloud order; open-ended pages such as sentence writing are meant for a parent or teacher to read. Front and back matter: a tracker page with score boxes, a 20-word review test drawn from all 13 weeks, and a printable certificate.
