Give grade 1 students 12 weeks of organized spelling practice: 120 words, 51 pages, and a plan that never repeats the same busywork twice. The weekly focus moves through short a, short e, short i, short o and short u, plus 7 more.
Each week is 4 pages long. Page one lists 10 words, highlights the pattern in color, and explains how to remember them. You will find ABC order, rainbow writing, word searches, find-and-circle the pattern, missing-letter tiles, write-it-three-times pages, look-cover-write-check charts, word scrambles, trace-and-write lines, sentence writing and a printable spelling test page, rotated from week to week. A peek at the lists: short u (Week 5) includes mud, nut, sun, and jug; ch digraph (Week 11) includes chip, lunch, chop, and rich; th digraph (Week 12) includes with, bath, thick, and math.
Answer keys are included for ABC-order lists, unscrambled words, missing letters, circled patterns, word search solution grids and every test word in read-aloud order; open-ended pages such as sentence writing are meant for a parent or teacher to read. The pack also has a progress tracker at the front, a 20-word cumulative review test, and a Spelling Star certificate at the end.
One ZIP contains the workbook and the key as US Letter and A4 PDFs, laid out to print cleanly at home or at school. An editable DOCX file of every word list is included so you can swap in your own words. Print one week at a time for homework, bind the whole pack as a workbook, or slip single pages into a center folder.
