Print-and-solve Atoms and Elements crosswords: 8 separate puzzles for Grades 5-8, each built around its own list of topic words. Word counts run 13 to 15 per puzzle, adding up to 113 clues. The pack uses longer subject terms (4-9 letters) and grids up to 15 x 16 squares. Every word in a grid crosses at least one other word, and the squares that are not part of an answer stay blank, so nothing is padded with nonsense letters.
Words you will meet include Proton, Nucleus, Halogen, Argon, Electron, Element and Lithium. Sample clues: "Lightest element, number one on the periodic table" (8 letters) and "Lightest element, number one on the periodic table" (8 letters).
These are standard no-word-bank crosswords - the only hints are the clues, the number of letters in brackets and the letters that cross. Every puzzle fits on one page: numbered grid up top, two clue columns (Across on the left, Down on the right) below, and a name/date line for students. Answer squares measure at least 0.30 inch.
The separate answer key PDF has 2 pages showing every puzzle solved (up to 4 solved grids per page), numbered to match. One ZIP, both paper sizes: the US-Letter and A4 folders each contain a 8-page puzzle file and a matching answer key file.
