Item details
A round-cheeked ghost cut from white felt or cotton, outlined with a pale grey satin edge. The face is stitched on top of the fabric: two oval eyes, a little round mouth and pink blush cheeks, with a pair of gold sparkles floating nearby.
It stitches in a handful of colors and takes little fabric, which makes it a good first applique for beginners and a quick batch project for school Halloween parties. Try it on toddler sweatshirts, trick-or-treat bags, costume bibs and felt wall banners.
Use fusible web behind the felt to keep it from shifting, trim close to the tack-down line, and let the satin edge cover the raw edge.

Compatibility: Pick the format your machine reads: PES or PEC for Brother and Baby Lock, JEF for Janome, VP3 for Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff, DST for commercial machines and most others. The files open in embroidery software such as Hatch, Embrilliance, Wilcom and Ink/Stitch.
Stitching notes: Applique stitch order: (1) placement line; place a piece of fabric over it. (2) tack-down; trim the fabric close to the stitch line. (3) satin edge covers the raw edge. Use cotton, felt or quilting cotton for the applique piece; light fusible web behind the fabric keeps it flat.
