Four acorns, four personalities. A hanging trio of chestnut-brown acorns on a twig with a pair of autumn leaves; a single large acorn whose cap is covered in a diamond cross-hatch; a cosy acorn whose cap wears a barn-red plaid of cream and green stripes; and a smiling acorn with round black eyes and pink cheeks for little ones.
Use the set to dress up kids sweatshirts and bibs, fall tea towels, flannel pillowcases, pouches and baby gifts. Sew the plaid acorn onto a tote for a cabin-and-woodland feel, put the trio across the top edge of a hand towel, or stitch all four in a row on a table runner.
Each acorn has a smooth tatami nut, a darker cap, a satin outline and fine highlight stitches. The plaid stripes on the cap are satin lines laid over the fill so they stay crisp, and the face on the smiling acorn uses small, safely sized fills with a tiny satin smile.

Stitching notes: Stitch on stable woven fabric or with cut-away stabilizer on knits; 40 wt polyester thread and a 75/11 needle suit these densities. Fills use tatami rows about 0.4 mm apart with edge-walk and zigzag underlay; satin edges give crisp outlines.
