A haunted-library escape adventure for kids that works without any props: read the story aloud, hand out the player book, and a team has to solve five printed puzzles to uncover a five-digit code. Miss Quill, a friendly library ghost, has locked the doors on Halloween night, and each puzzle gives one digit of the code that opens them.
Both difficulty levels are in the pack. Level A (ages 6 to 9) uses a shift cipher with the key shown, a three-riddle acrostic, a small word grid, a 7 by 7 number maze and a candle-counting pattern. Level B (ages 9 to 12) hides the cipher key, uses a five-riddle acrostic, a 10 by 10 grid with backward and diagonal words, an 11 by 11 maze with decoy numbers and a mixed number pattern.
The final codes are derived from the puzzle answers and re-computed in code: Level A opens with 71469 and Level B with 38526.
