Send your class on a harvest scavenger hunt where every stop is a riddle. Twelve numbered riddle cards (about hay, apples, rakes, vines, scarecrows, acorns, tractors and more) go up around the classroom or hallway. Students solve each one, write the answer on a recording sheet, and copy the first letter into a box. When all twelve are found, the letters spell a secret two-word message that sends everyone to the harvest feast.
The code was checked by script: the twelve first letters really spell the message, no riddle contains its own answer, and all answers are different. Two recording sheets are included: one with a word bank for younger or supported students, and one with no bank for grades 3 to 5.
