A grab-bag of grammar and word work in 19 pages, all in an autumn setting of scarecrows, owls, acorns, cider and bats. Students sort nouns, verbs and adjectives, circle the adjective or the verb in a sentence, color-code a whole sentence, build sentences from word cards, fix capital letters and end marks, match contractions, put words in ABC order, find synonyms, antonyms and compound words, form past tense verbs and choose the correct plural.
The word lists are chosen so that every word has one clear part of speech (no tricky words like rake or orange that can be two things), and the build checks that each sentence page has exactly the number of target words it claims. Contractions, past tenses, plurals, ABC order and compound words are generated or checked by rule in the build, and a full answer key is included for every page.
